Notify site leaders of special needs and allergies.

Set up a time and place for your daily post-VBS meeting.

Ask everyone to arrive early for Day One.
Make sure your registrar has sufficient Day One help.

During VBS


Be visible, supportive, and enthusiastic.

Hold brief, daily post-VBS meetings.

Ask all your leaders to check in with you as they arrive.

Have a general helper available to take care of last-minute needs.

Alert leaders to special-needs children with allergies.

After VBS


Finalize your records.

Send thank-yous to all your volunteers.

Write an enthusiastic VBS report for your church newsletter.
Include quotes from volunteers and participants. Use children’s first names and ages only.
